Browser Issue

For some reason "Google Chrome" is hanging up and going non-responsive.
I have no infections. I have KIS (Kapersky Internet Security) and have run a deep scan in safe mode as directed by Kapersky and then I run a deep scan in regular mode to make sure.
Is there a patch for the issue? I have tried repeatedly to get to the Microsoft update site to no avail. Every time I try all that happens is the internal update interface pops up; when I check for updates through the interface all I get is the computer is up to date.
Thanking you ahead in this matter,

Do you have both KIS and Windows firewall active at the same time?
You state FF is no better but have you tried IE to see if it does the same thing?
If so I don't think it is a browser issue but more of a OS issue.

No. KIS firewall is active. Windows is not.
IE just loads to slowly. The only connection that is available to me is slow motion, dial-up.
Wonderful. I have had to have the OS loaded twice and each time I do it, I'm charged for it. I just do not have the money to have it done again.
Just downloaded and ran tsskiller.exe. No infections.

So you are on dialup and not broadband?

The only connection that is available to me is slow motion, dial-up.

This may sound strange but reboot your system and go in Safe Mode With Networking and try Google then. Does it work there?
