So a potential client asked me about creating a website to start a subscription service for their stock picks. They want to be able to aggregate stock market data on a daily, and or weekly, basis. They also want to be able to share their latest picks with those subscribed to the service.

That being said, I have absolutely no clue how to automatically get stock market data. Is there an open database for that? or do you have to use an rss feed from like the nasdaq? I plan to do a lot of research on this but I just have no idea where to start. If someone could give me a shove in the right direction that would help! :D
