Hello,

Thank you first off for attempting to help with my issue. I will first discuss the problem then i will walk through all steps i have attempted and failed.

My issue is with media sharing, Ive always done this with my Xbox's at one point or another. i know there are multiple ways to set this, but none seems to work. i have my Xbox slim connected to my 2wire 2701hg-b modem through wireless, the i have my vista based desktop wired to the same modem. I can not get windows media center to connect or get the PC to see the Xbox in windows media player to enable file sharing.

I have attempted to: Adjust windows firewall to allow the Xbox connection, adjusted the internal modem firewall to allow all incoming and outgoing signals to reach both the computer and Xbox, I have checked multiple times on my home network on my PC, it never lists the Xbox, when i get on my router to config the settings on there it reads both, but it classifies them as one wireless and one wired. also when i run windows media center set up, it gives me an 8 digit code to use for my extender. when i attempt to connect the pc with the extender code, it says extender not found.

Possible issues Ive concluded so far.

It's possible that the router distinguishes wired and wireless connections as 2 separate home groups.

I will be attempting to adjust the modem for port-forwarding tonight, also will set static ip addresses on both the PC and Xbox. I will check for a response before then.
