I have somehow downloaded and installed (?) INBOX.com onto my computer. It has pretty much taken over my computer. I cannot reset any homepage and whatever I try keeps me getting kicked back to INBOX.com. I tried to delete it via the add/delete program section and it looked to disapier, but it's still there. I am not much of a GEEK, but I can do somethings. I have a HP computer running windows xp. I am not sure what Firefox is. I know this may be a old problem with others seeking help, but I'm asking HELP!!
Many thanks, Bill Ossipee,NH
I also tried to update my internet explorer to the newer 8.3 version. I downloaded it but it would not install untill I deleted the currecn windows explorer. When I did this it also looked to delete alot of other things with it, but yet the new internet explorer will not install.
Again Thnks

Try this first:

Download and install Revo Uninstaller
  • Double click the Revo Uninstaller icon on your desktop to start the program
  • Scroll through the listed programs and Right Click on the program you wish to uninstall. In your case InBox.com.
  • From the pop out menu choose Uninstall
  • Click Yes to the confirmation dialogue
  • In the next window select the Advanced mode
  • Click Next to start uninstalling the program
  • Answer Yes to confirm the uninstall
  • When the program has completed the four steps, click Next to allow the program to search for leftovers
  • Once complete, click Next, then Finish
  • Repeat the above steps for any other programs you wish to remove.

Hello,
I installed the Revo Uninstaller, but ONLINE.COM does not show up as a program. When I first tried to remove ONLINE, I went to my add or remove program. It was listed and I removed it. It no longer showed as a program, but nothing changed, ONLINE still has control. What's next?
Thanks,Bill

May be embedded to your toolbars on your browser.
To disable add-ons in Internet Explorer 8

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons.
3. Under Show, click All add-ons.
4. Click the add-on you want to disable, and then click Disable. In your case Inbox.com
5. Repeat step 4 for every add-on to disable. When you are finished, click Close.
Now restart IE and retry IE as before. Let us know if it still happens or not. If not then try enabling one add on at a time and trying IE again till you find the problem.
Most times the cause will be a toolbar add on.
