HP back up cd rom problem

I have a HP Compaq tower. I ran the operating system back up cd rom to recover my system. Now I can not get back on line. The cd must have removed some important files or drivers that allow me to boot up. I have high speed cable.

hp p/n:5970-0541-EN
image creation and recovery cd rom.

I have very limited pc experience. If you are unable to answer perhaps you could refer me to someone. Thanks for reading.
