My dell computer recently had major problems, it is believed that it was burning inside it smelled awful and shut off. Luckily Dell replaced it however it they didn't give us the same computer back and as a result the hardrive will not work in the new computer (old one was xp this is 7) does anyone know of a place/way that helps in retreating the files for you.

Thank You So Much

I've used this tool to plug in old hard drives into my bench PC. It's very simple, doesn't require any drivers and makes transferring data a breeze. Just remember to keep it turned OFF when you plug it- otherwise you might fry your drive!

Yeah, I agree with underscore - install this drive into an enclosure, or connect to a cable adapter as shown, or install the drive as a "secondary" (not boot) drive in your current computer.
