Every time when I click on the red "X" IE8 does nothing. It does not close the page. I have to go to Ctl-Alt-Delete to close the page.

Is there a way to fix this? What is causing the page not to close?

It is happening on all web pages.

Please advise. Thank you!

It is working better today but on some sites where I have to enter in my user name and password it states that the "log in was successful" but then it brings me back to the log in page and keeps showing I have to log in again. . .and again. . .and again. . .

It is not happening on this site but on other sites it is.

Very annoying.

But I am able to close out IE8 now with clicking on the red "X".

Also just to let you know in the past I have uninstalled IE8 and it completely screwed up my computer.

So I don't think you can uninstall it on an XP machine as it completely messed mine up.

But the log in thing is starting to bother me.

you can go here and download IE7...then install it
also you can go here and get firefox...during the install it will ask if you want it to import your favorites...say yes and then give firefox a spin
