Hey guys, I ran into a problem today and could use some help. First I have a Sony Vaio that's about a year old running windows 7. Today I was using it before class when the whole computer froze up. It's the first time I have ever had that happen. I turned it off and left for class for an hour and came back. When I turned it back on the Vaio screen loaded and then it went to a black screen that reads operating system not found. I've gotten to the bios screen and moved things around to change the boot sequence but it didn't matter. I'm not the best with computers and I'm a college kid who needs some help before I get too far behind in classes. I apologize if this has already been discussed. Im on my phone and it would take up a lot of time to sift through recent topics. Any help would be appreciated. The simpler, the better. Also, I checked to see if I could find a recovery disk or anything around here and can't. Don't know if that helps. Thanks

Also forgot to mention that in the bios screen beside hard disk drive it says none. Is the hdd fried?

I think you should have it inspected, because it sounds to me that the hard drives cords may have been disconnected, or may have had a complete malfunction with the OS. If it was the OS, I'm not the person to help.

Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech....ay.cfm?ttid=287
Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.
Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.
If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable.

NOTE. If your hard drive is made by Toshiba, try the Hitachi DFT CD Image version of the software
