Well, I recently booted up XP and downloaded my drivers

The problem is I got bored of the XP theme and tried to get a new one

I found one (.msstyles or whatever) and double clicked, it prompted a message saying it can't use it

I noticed the readme and it told me to get uxtheme.dll for custom themes

I found a patcher and used it, but it reverted my theme to the classic theme and now I can't even change to XP theme!

The patcher was unfortunately for SP2, even though trying a SP3 one didn't help me and I want any theme but classic

I am unsure if you are trying to revert the theme or the appearance.
The screenshot you have sent has the appearance tab checked.

My screenshot has the themes tab activated

However my best advice is that it is a gimmick - falling close to what is known as MUNG - mess until no good.

Personally I would run the patch again to revert OR use system restore, presuming you established a restore point before installing the patch.

See this please.
I am sorry bit I cannot follow your view on this.
The dll file
uxtheme.dll
is an existing Windows system file.

What you are doing is to download the patch for that file so that other themes, NOT originally included, may then be added.
See my screenshot on this post.
In otherwords you are going to replace that dll file in its existing form to allow you THEN to include a new theme.

I REPEAT my earlier advice. It is unworthy of the effort and risk.
