Hello: This forum has provided me help in the past in removing these pests but I am at a loss on this one. I ran Ad-Adware, Microsoft Anti-Spyware, etc. My screen was black and showing "infected" but some of the processes I ran must have removed that. Now it flashes light/bright colors. My Control Panel/Display icon only shows options for screen saver and background. Here's A Hijak This Log...any help is greatly appreciated.

2. Boot into safemode to do this keep tapping F8 on your keyboard while your PC is starting up you will get a menu select safemode.

3. While in safemode open Hijackthis and click scan. Then tick and fix the following in Hijackthis with all windows closed except Hijackthis.

Seems to have worked. Spyware gone on re-boot into normal mode and Hijak this was clean .

However, in my process of trying to clean this thing out of my system I deleted the C:\WINDOWS\desktop.html and my desktop just flashes white and light grey colors. A right click on the desktop, selecting properties, only shows me a "general" tab and not another option. Any ideas on how to restore this?
