Hope someone can help with this problem: today, my wife was trying to download a coupon from the internet and when she tried to print it, nothing happened. Thinking nothing of it, she went on to other business. When she tried to print other documents (Word) again the printer did not respond. I tried as well, and all I get is the message "The document failed to print" with no reason given. I went into Printer/Faxes folder, and the printer is still there and is the default printer. Could trying to print that coupon somehow shift the printer away?

What does that mean? Is this printer networked and it does not print from your computer either? Or you tried to print something from your Windows user account (different from hers) on the same computer? Or you tried to print something from the same user account?

You get an error message and she does not?

Have you looked in the message queue to see where your documents are?
