Help with Malware removal. Hijacker infections.

Hi, I've got tons of what I understand to be fake error messages popping up. Most say 'Hard Drive Failure' and others saying talking about not enough RAM, or hard drive failure, etc etc. My entire desktop has been wiped, my windows toolbar is empty. However, I know I still have all my programs, files, and stuff because when I go to the search option on my windows toolbar I can find my stuff (which is how I got on the internet). I ran a scan and it said I have a desktop hijacker and a windows task manager hijacker. I managed to get task manager open by restarting my computer and opening it right as my desktop loaded, but if I wait any longer I'm denied access.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there - lets see if we can get you back up and running . Have you lost the shortcuts in your start menu ?
Unfortunately Hijackthis does not look deep enough

Download aswMBR.exe ( 511KB ) to your desktop.

Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it

Click the "Scan" button to start scan

On completion of the scan click save log, save it to your desktop and post in your next reply

THEN

Download OTL to your Desktop
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • Select All Users
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in

    netsvcs

    winlogon.exe

    svchost.exe

  • Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Post both logs
