I let my firewall lapse for one stinkin' day...

The enemy: trojan.downloader.ConHook.d

The Victim: Dell Deminsions 3000 w/ Windows XP Home Ed.

The Idiot: Me--My McAfee Firewall subscription lapsed and I was slothfull about getting it renewed. Now I'm paying the price.

The rundown of my thus-far futile attempts to get rid of the trojan:

* Nortons 2005 found the infection, but couldn't remove the trojan...

* I loaded Ad-Aware SE--it couldn't get it off...

* I turned off Nortons and loaded Ewido--Ewido found it, but couldn't get it either...

* I loaded TDS-3--it couldn't even find the trojan(even when I scanned the specific file directly)...

* I loaded Killbox and procexp, but I didn't know which files to kill...

* I loaded and ran Cleanup40--it relieved some of the load on the CPU. Now there is only a 70% load on the CPU instead of a 90% load. :)

I'm waving up the white flag. :tazz: ;) ;)
