USB port/s not accepting/recognising printer lead

Um, the port won't recognise the lead. Do you mean the computer can't print?

It could also mean that the computer doesn't detect the port.

I can only think of 2 reasons.

1. The printer USB is bad.
2. The USB Port is faulty.

OP, can you please be more specific.

I think it the second one. Computer doesn't recognise usb port.

also make sure your print spooler is turned on
