Every time I try to burn restore DVDs, I get through the first two DVDs fine. But as soon I insert the third DVD, it tries to start burning and then I get this error:

"An exception error occurred during the burning progress. DVD-3 needs to be burned again. Please insert a blank writable DVD."

The DVD burner is fine because I have turned right around and started the entire process over and again, it burns the first two DVDs fine (using a DVD that it just said wouldn't work), and again, I get the error on the third DVD. I have waisted 6 blank DVDs trying to do this and am getting very frustrated. I haven't done anything to the recovery partition; I couldn't if I wanted to. So that shouldn't be a problem. Can anyone tell me exactly what that error message means?

I'm assume this is an HP? After reading some similar problems out there, it's been suggested to check HP's website and see if there's a firmware upgrade for your DVD burner. IF not contact HP and tell them your problem, some people reported that HP will send you a set of recovery discs for free.

the links I was reading:

That's great, except that it's an Asus G73. Maybe Asus will do the same thing. They ought to for how much I paid for it. Thanks for the suggestion though, I didn't think of that.
