Again, there is no longer an IE icon on my desktop. When I use start, search for programs, internet explorer isn't even found...

Yep, I'm drinking a lot.

Click Start and in search box type internet. Look above in Programs section if there is Internet Explorer listed.

Strange but OK. What browser are you using to post replays here?

OK. Then go to that screwed up computer and install Internet Explorer back using Windows Updates.

If you click on Start then on Control Panel and then on System and Security.
In System and Security do you see Windows Update?

OK. Currently I have no better idea then to backup, format and reinstall. It's actually best solution. What do you say?

Render,

I have found three CDs.

1. Operating System reinstallation DVD WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64-BIT

2. Dell Drivers and Utilities "for reinstalling Dell Inspiron Laptop Computer Software"

3. Dell "Application" "For reinstalling Cyberlink PowerDVD Dx 8.2 Software for Microsoft Windows XP and
Windows Vista for reinstalling Cyberlinik PowerDVD software for Windows"

Are these the only DVDs/CDs I need?

Also, as far as backing up the computer, what would you recommend? Should I just back up the documents, photos etc. that I need and then reinstall any programs/software with their own CDs/DVDs?
