word program disappeared/file extention prob?

My word processing program seems to have vanished. It is not in the program file or download file. I think the file extensions on all docs were converted to wps. What? Much thanks!

Documents with the .wps file type are created by Microsoft Works Word Processor (versions 6.0 – 8.0).
Maybe you are a little confused -- you should be looking for Microsoft Works in your applications, not Microsoft Word?
