Youtube stylesheet

A couple of weeks or so ago Youtube suddenly stopped loading properly. Takes about 3 minutes and when it does, it's mostly a white screen with everthing crammed down the left side. Can sign in but can't make any changes. I installed latest flash and java versions no better. Other websites are working fine. Tried Googling it but only found one one article that shed any light which suggested the stylesheet is not loading properly. No real help on how to fix it though. I use Youtube a lot so am keen to get it working - hope someone can help. PC is a Toshiba laptop about 8 years old running XP (yeah time to get a new one but most things are working OK except Youtube. Thanks for looking.
