i have been using junctions alot on my computer for convienance as well as performance. but i was wondering is there a way to set up something that works like a junction in that changes on one side are replicated on the other but instead of being a simply link it truly mirrors the changes so that if the link is broken the data remains at both locations rather than just disapearing from the source

Sorry for the late reply; you know, this forum doesn't usually get much attention.

A revision control system like Mercurial is the best. Not only can you synchronize, you can also do rollback, make modification branches, and more importantly, synchronize between multiple remote systems.

Or use something like SyncToy.
