windows can not currently check for updates

i recieve an error message stating i can not currently check for updates, because the servine is not running .you may need to restart your computer > not sure if this is the proper place for this question / problem but any help would be great .. thanks jesse

thanks essexboy, that seems to have gotten the updates flowing again , thanks for the time and info . once again ill say you guys are great at what you do ..
