Need Advice on New Router!

I have a 54 Mbps Wireless Router WGR614 v6. It is connected to my DSL modem. There would be disconnections like 2-3 times a day, sometimes even more... I've had this wireless router for about 4-5 years..

When I play games or surf the internet, i can hear the wireless router making a very high pitch noise and then my internet dcs. Then it will reset itself.. I'm thinking in buying a new wireless router because I'm sick of the Disconnections. I need help on buying a better Router. Please give your opinions!

Which one should I buy? I don't know the difference between 802.11b/g and 802.11b/n.. Can someone tell me the difference?
