Ok well on a forum I know you can gain reward points for being one of the first 3 ppl to welcome a new member that says hello, there's two members that always reply within the same minute as the hello and they are not on that topic at the time. Does anyone have any ideas on how i could do this?

Most forums have the option to subscribe to a forum so that whenever a new topic is posted, an email notification is received.

Then they are probably gaming the site with an application that monitors the webpage for changes. Something like: http://www.watchthatpage.com/
