I have service pk 2 & would like to upgrade to service pk3. It seems everytime I change something I end up making things worse. Is there any reason I shouldn't upgrade or is there anything special I should do before I d/l SP3? Thanks.

You should install SP3 immediately. You are vulnerable to security exploits without it. After installation, visit Windows Update and install all the high-priority updates shown.
