I currently have an old netopia usb wireless adapter for my old laptop. It has been bent at the connector and runs very hot. I just got a used DLinkDWL-G122 ver. D1 with firmware 4.00.

How should I prepare the computer for the new adapter? Should I disable or uninstall the netopia adapter first?

Thanks,

Mstat

Yes otherwise you may have driver conflicts which can cause system instability and/or crashes also be sure to use the
correct netopia uninstall procedure for the same reasons stated above; http://www.netopia.c...TP2000_003.html

Thanks for the heads up on the uninstall. I will have time to do the work on Tuesday and will review the uninstall to verify it is there and take it out.

Thanks,
