Hey, i got the same problem as Prodigal88, i have Norton Anti-Virus, and it keeps shutting down when i try to scan or just try and activate it, i got this file after accepting a file in MSN Messenger, i double clicked it and boom, Anti Virus got ******, i delete the file that seemed to be the problem ip.config, i had about 2-3 of those which i deleted, i prolly deleted the "alright" one too, but i got my system working again after a shutdown, but my Anti Virus is still ******, and i cant go into "Kør the danish word for it, it is prolly called something like go or something ?" well i tried to type in msconfig, so i could start in fail safe mode, but it shut down the window before i could do anything and it just kept on doing so, so im pretty annoyed atm, ANY help would be appreciated, i will start by doing what the rest have posted, Sorry for the long post, just can't stop when i get started ;)

btw, how many csrss files are u supposed to have in ur windows folder ? :tazz:

start your own thread, and do so by.....

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
