I bought a new wireless router today (Netgear N600), works great so far by the way. I want to know if I can hook my old wireless router up in the other room to run a Ethernet cable to the bluray player that is not wireless capable.

you may be able to use the old wireless router as a repeater depends on the model and if it allows that or not
also again depending on model you maybe able to change the firmware to DD-WRT which will allow that to work

have a look at the router database and see if yours is listed - also post the make and exact model and revision info here
