i guess 7 is a bit different from xp i tried to set up a program to run at login. the program doesent need admin credentials but it should have them to work properly. any way i set compatability options to always run as administrator and added a string to HKCU\BLAH BLAH\CurrentVersion\RUN

the thing is it doesent seem to work

How are you starting the program at login? Knowing that may help figure out what can be done.

the program is fullglass.exe a UI Effect for a theme i use.

I am Starting it by adding a string with the full application path to
HKCU\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
additionally the compatability settings on the exe file specify to always run as an administrator for all users

is it possible to register any exe file as a windows Service. that would allow me to explicitly set the startup options with a better degree of control
