hey. i just did a clean install on my roomates computer and i'm having some wierd issues with the cd drive. it's a cd burner (48x Mitsumi) and it seems to only read burnt cds. this is a pain because all his driver disks etc won't read. the status light blinks like it';s thinking, but it never finishes it's though.
some stuff that might help you guys:
- when i reformatted, i had to do it a second time with a xp copy which already had service pack two on it as with the first install would not d/l anything at all.
- the reason for the nuke and pave was basically because the computer wouldn't so much as boot up
- the hardware manager recognizes it as running fine
any other questions, just gimme a yell
