It sounds to me as if the hard drive has failed - This is the OTLPE disc correct ?

Yes it was the OTLPE disc.

My HD was not recognized in another working Dell computer. So it looks like data in this Hard Drive is lost, and I will need to buy another Hard Drive.

I will be ordering a new hard drive today. I have a few questions as to when the new HD comes in.

1. Should I go into the BIOS and click F9 to reset the default, so that it no longer boots to the CD first, and puts the hard drive back on top of the list?

2. Will the cd I have for the XP Professional Service Pack 3 need to be reinstalled to stop getting some of those error messages I was getting?

Yes you will need to do a full install of XP. In most BIOS's leaving the CD as first device is not a problem. If there is no CD in the drive it will automatically go to the hard drive

Once you are ready let me know and I will be on hand to assist if needed
