I was trying to play a game the other day and a warning came up and said I did not have enough video memory. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE card installed. I cannot remember exactly how much it said I needed, but I am sure it said I needed something like 1.2 (gig?)and I was just shy of that. If what I have is capable of an increase, can someone walk me throught the process? Maybe you can suggest a way I could copy and paste the settings I currently have to submit here? Also, I tried to play the demo of half-life and the movement of the game was extremely slow as well; Here is some info from Belarc which I hope helps:

Hello There,

Try downloading GeForce Release 185 Driver. On the Nvidia website it says that this driver accelerates performance in 3D Applications and for Half Life it increases 30% performance.

Hope This Helps.

The video seems to be built onboard so the only way effectively to increase the memory is to purchase a new video card.
What you are dealing with is a chipset and not a actual video card.
The memory being used is shared memory with your system. In essence you can increase your ram memory thus increasing the amount of shared memory for the video card.
I see in your log your system seems to be a HP Pavilion but could you provide the actual model number please. That will help in finding the correct type of video card that can help you.

Here is what Belar says the model is: HP Pavilion 061 RJ181AA-ABA a1600n 0nx1114RE101NODM300

So, I think the model is HP Pavillion A1600. Let me know is this is right. I am running late for the doctor, but I can find out more, later, if
this is not the correct info. Thanks for trying to help me!

I ask simply is the video built on the motherboard or is it a add on card?

I would most likely suspect the video to be built on the motherboard.

As seen on this website, it says the chipset is GeForce 6150 LE.

OK then the best option would be to replace the onboard with a add on video card.
Checking the site you linked to last I found this:

PCI Express x16 One (One available)

Now this indicates you could get a newer video card with video memory just with it and open the shared memory for your onboard back up for your system.
The should help speed up your system and give you more expandability with games you would like to play with the new video card.

Help me understand this: is the PCI Express x16 One the video card I should get? If so, I saw one for $149 or the Internet, which is a little steep for me right now. Would something else work that would give me what I need, but cost less? Also, once the new card is installed, will everything work automatically or do settings have to be tweaked?

One last question: is a 256 meg card good enough or in your opinion, what is the least amount of megs I should try to get? Also, thanks so much for all of your help!

I myself would recommend a 512 meg card. One thing to be aware of is if the card needs a power connector does your PSU have the needed connector?

Wow, I am not sure. Does all these type of cards need that connection? If not, how does one differentiate between the two? Best Buy is not far from me. Might you go to their website and recommend something they have so that I know exactly which one to get, please? Thank you.
