If I build a desktop with an Intel DZ68DB motherboard and put an add-in graphics board on it, can I run a 2 monitor set-up with one monitor running off of the built in graphics on the motherboard and one monitor running off of the add-in graphics card, at the same time?

Probably, but you'll almost certainly find that the card you put in will have multiple outputs that you can use instead of the onboard slot.

I'm trying to go "dual monitor"style with an old S3ProSavageDDR on board chip set and second card in an AGP slot but when I reboot the system only sees the new card .
how can I get it to recognize both cards ?
