I use VLC Media Player. It's free and handles just about anything.

Hı,

ı have recently ınstalled VLC,

and everythıng seems to be workıng ok.

I only have one concern and that ıs,

Windows Media Player used to be my default player for

musıc CD's.

VLC has knocked ıt out of actıon.

I know that ı can through Tools>Preferences>Set Up Associations

uncheck some to make my Widows Media Player,

my default player for musıc CD'S again.

However i'm not certain WHİCH BOXES to uncheck!

Do you know?

Can you help me with that?

Thank you.

You will have to open WMP and go into the file association area and make mp3's and cd audio or CDA default to WMP

What version of WMP do you have?

Version 11:
Open Media Player

Click on "Tools"

Select "Option"

Click on "File Type" tab

Now select file type of your choice or click on "Select All"

My concern was and ıs,that by checkıng or unchecking anythıng,

the VLC would NOT be damaged or corrupted ın any way,

that would force me to reınstall ıt.

So what effect overall would ıt have on VLC,

ıf for example ı were to clıck 'Select All' on W.M.Player?

Thank you.

All you are doing is telling VLC not to play mp3's or CDA's by default.
If you wanted to use it all you would have to do is right click a file and then click on open with.
VLC will be one of the options you could use.
By default if you setup WMP to play those two file types then when click on one of those file types WMP would be the default player.
