[attachment=55922:Acpiec.JPG]I have begun noticing recently that I get the following error in Event Viewer for my laptop. System seems to operate ok but I wanted to head off any problems. Here is the text of the problem.

Thanks for your help.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: ACPIEC
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1
Date: 2/4/2012
Time: 4:19:20 PM
User: N/A
Computer: S0034324532
Description:
\Device\ACPIEC: The embedded controller (EC) hardware didn't respond within the timeout period. This may indicate an error in the EC hardware or firmware, or possibly a poorly designed BIOS which accesses the EC in an unsafe manner. The EC driver will retry the failed transaction if possible.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft....ink/events.asp.

Seems to be a well known error: ACPIEC error

Fixes and suggestions vary all over the place. Many point to a BIOS update as a fix, others to heat problems.

Sorry I don't have better help but that's all I could find.
