Hey guys,

My retarded computer is screwing up on me again. For some reason, everytime I open Internet Explorer or a new window, it takes at least 1 minute to open. Every other application is fine. Even when I change sites, it's normal.

What should I do? Should I re-install Windows? Do you need a HJT log?

After other more knowledgable people help you out, you should quit using Explorer and start using another browser like Mozilla Firefox. It is free and works soooo much better.

Good call JDO. K9unit k9, you need to install Windows XP Service Pack 1 and get all the updates from windowsupdate.com. Otherwise, what we tell you will be worthless, as your system will just get infected again soon. Windows XP Service Pack 2 will be available soon on windows update. You can order on cd starting aug. 25. Turnung on automatic updates can do all this all for automatically, well except for order a cd <_< . To turn on automatic updates:

Hey,

I installed all the updates that it said were necessary, except for the actual Windows XP Service Pack 1 - because it wouldn't let me: There is some sort of incompatibility between HP Pavilon and Windows XP Service Pack 1. I think I may have installed Windows XP Service Pack 1 in the past, and maybe that is what is causing the problems, as I had a previous problem with my toolbar missing, which was fixed by you guys. <_<

Anyways, here's the HJT log with all the updates I did install thus far:

My retarded computer is screwing up on me again.

According to your log you have an unpatched version of XP and Internet Explorer. Unless you choose to update them we'll be unable to help you. The reason is simple, if you're using an unpatched system you're only going to continue to get reinfected. It's a waste of your time and ours.

SP2 for XP is going to be available via Windows Update on Wednesday Aug. 25th.
It's also available as a download here: http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en
Or, you can order it on CD here: http://www.microsoft...default810.mspx

Please take advantage of one of these update opportunities and reply with a new Hijack This log when completed. <_<

I've come across yet another problem. When trying to install the Windows XP Service Pack 1 OR 2, microsoft is telling me that my copy of Windows is pirated. I bought this computer from future shop: it was refurbished, and it had windows installed by them (future shop) already. Is there anyway I can contact someone and tell them about this problem? My internet explorer is running very slow now so it takes me a long time to do simple things - If you could just type out the full website and I could copy paste into my browser, that would help. If need be that I have to go out and buy a new Windows XP disk, I probably will. I just want to make sure that it has all the updates on it already <_<.

I feel like such an idiot....

well first i would go to the store in which you bought it from and tell them what hapen- they should buy you a new disk

newegg.com has a student discount for windows xp for 84 bucks but thats an upgrade you can still use that

i would def. try the store first and dont take no for an answer if you were sold pirated merchandise <_<
