Hi there all new to this forum
i have a problem in the form of a trojan
.small.33.AH

I have read the thread regarding what to do before posting
and have done all excluding the windows update as
the check for upgrades came up with nothing so i assume i've got it

clean up removed 650mb of files although i clear out with Norton
have also run
CW shredder
spybot S&D
Ad-aware SE
Trend Housecall
AVG
TDS-3
all removed various stuff etc

and finaly Highjack This(results below)

an outline of the problem
firstly norton anti-virus keeps bring found virus(high risk threat)window up
when press ok the file is unrepairable and i have keep pressing it for
the window to close

secondly AVG does the same thing and is unable to remove/quarantine/heal

trend micro came up with
TROJ FN.A Which has been removed
JAVA BYTEVER.A is nin cleanable and cannot be accessed

TDS came up with trojan horse downloader.small.33.ah
i tried to delete it but it says could'nt open file is locked

What are the infected files found by TrendMicro and TDS-3? I need the filename and location.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Click on Start->Settings->Control Panel->Java Plug-in and click on the Cache tab. Then click on the Clear button and hit OK.

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:

SpywareKiller - it’s rogueware (or known to be rogueware in the past) and we highly recommend that you uninstall it. Rogue/Suspect means that these products are of unknown, questionable, or dubious value as anti-spyware protection.

SpywareKilla - rogueware

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

Followed your instructions upto

Click on Start->Settings->Control Panel->Java Plug-in and click on the Cache tab. Then click on the Clear button and hit OK

i could'nt find a java plug-in
should i continue on and re-boot in safe mode

Empty out your Norton Qurantine files and continue with the remaining fix.

firstly there are no Java icons or spywarekilla/killer icons in the Add/Remove panel

i done a search for C:\Documents an Settings\mick\Applications Data\Sun\java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar\loaderadv81.jar-28c37bad-7ceb35e0.zip *Dummy Class* and deleted it
im just about to continue on with your instructions

i have also deleted all norton quarantine files as advised

what is Java anyway do i need it on my system as a file search under the heading zip comes up with quite a lot of refrences to this Java

Sure, you may run the online and offline virus scans to make sure no other trojans are found. I see you have AVG and Norton. I suggest uninstalling one of them since having two will cause conflicts. I recommend keeping AVG, but if you like Norton, you may keep that instead.

Right click on this link http://www.greyknigh...lO15Domains.inf and choose Save As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see anything happen). You may delete it afterwards.


You might need Java if a site requires it or if you are using a java program. Otherwise, no, it's not needed. I would say get it since Java is used quite often these days. Get v 1.4.2 instead of version 1.5.

Your log is clean.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer and uncheck the same box to enable System Restore.

Make sure to get the latest updates for Windows and Internet Explorer at http://v5.windowsupd...t.aspx?ln=en-us.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
