A friend using an HP laptop running VISTA had a big virus problem I suggested AVG, BIG MISTAKE I didn't realize he had the 64 bit version of Vista and he installed the 32 bit AVG. (2012( It doesn't show up in add remove or using revo uninstall. Running the Removal tool from AVG also doesn't work, A menu flashes momentarily on the screen but disappears before it can even be read. HELP. After the install of AVG his network disappeared. The only other things I can find is and error for MSI installer failure.

Did your friend leave the AVG uninstaller running for a while?
If not run it again and leave it, you may not see anything/message on the screen until it has finished uninstalling.

Give Revo Uninstaller (the free version) a try.
