I was infected by nail.exe and other applications and have taken the following steps to clean and remove
MS AntiSpware Remover – in safe mode, Ad-Aware – in safe mode, SpyBot S & D – in safe mode, A-Squared – in safe mode, Ran Autoruns and Hijackthis. SpyBot comes back clean, Ad-Aware continues to report the same reg key
HKLM\software\microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon shell = Explorer.Exe C:\Windows\Nail.exe.
When I ran Autoruns it cleaned up my run keys but nail.exe continues to recreate itself, can’t delete or name.
Haven't had any pop-up but can't remove the file.
