I hope someone can help me with this.
I upgraded my iTunes to 10.6 and haven't been able to access either iTunes store or iTunes helper, and I can't even check for updates. The worst part is I can't get my iPod touch to sync properly, I can't do backup with iTunes ever since I had this version of iTunes.
Ended up finding the solution: iTunes was connecting to one of the store servers via the wrong socket.
To fix this:
•Open up a command line as an Administrator. On Win7, type 'cmd' into the search box on the start menu, right-click on cmd.exe, and select 'Run as Administrator'.
•Type: netsh winsock reset and press Enter
•Restart your computer.
I didn't see this above post earlier, it later saved my day! My iTunes is running fine now. I'm a very happy person now.
Thank you Jason Stringer!
