Hello, I don't use I.E. much, hardly ever, I much prefer other browsers, but as soon as I try to load I.E. I get a re-direct to hp-consumer.aol.co.uk, now this bugs me because I did not invite this piece of software onto my system and want rid of it. I have ran malwarebytes, hijackthis, minitoolbox, superantispyware, security check by screen 317, and Avast pro. Now there was some things found during these scans but the only thing related to the browser hi-jack was that Hijackthis informed me 'your system is denied access to the hosts file', if hijacked domains are in this file, hijackthis may not be able to fix this. I accessed the hosts file manually and entered
127.0.0.1 hp-consumer.aol.co.uk, to block access to the AOL site but it would not allow me to save this! Can anyone else suggest a method for getting rid of this pest!
Thanks.
