How do I get rid of it? I tried virus scans, spy booter, spybot, ad-aware - all to no avail.

Hi kdk6dan, welcome to GTG!
Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.
Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

Hi G2G admin ,
I hope you can please help me with this trdww bug. it presents at shut down as "program not responding....Trdww:c:\Windows\System32\TESTING....",
clicking end now completes the shutdown. It also has affected the 3 finger salute,
ie ctrl+alt+del which flashes quickly on the screen then disappears before I can click the not responding programme.
Thanks for a good forum.

Hi dshepp. Welcome to Geeks to Go.
It is confusing to post your log in someone else's thread. In the future, please start a new thread. Thanks.
You have some parasites in your system.
Download Ad-aware from: http://www.geekstogo...n=download&id=5
Install the program and launch it.
First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.
Next, we need to configure Ad-aware for a full scan.
-> Click on the Gear icon (second from the left) to access the preferences/settings window
1. In the General window make sure the following are selected:
-> Click Start and on the next screen choose Activate in-depth Scan at the bottom of the page and then choose:
-> Save the log file when it asks and then click Finish
-> When finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose Select All from the drop down menu and click Next).
-> Reboot your computer.
Spybot Search & Destroy Download and install. Start Spybot S&D using the "Spybot-S&D (easy mode)" link from your Start menu . Click the Search for updates button, if any are found then click the Download Updates button. After all updates are downloaded, click the Check for problems button. When the scan is complete, place a check next to anything marked in red, then click the Fix selected problems button. You may need to run Spybot S&D multiple times to remove all infections.
When finished, Reboot your computer. Finally, reply to this post with a new HiJackThis log so we can look for any nasties that may have been missed.

Please go to the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. I need you to uninstall:
mybar.dll show up as "My Way Speed Bar" and mwssrcas.dll will show up as "My Search Bar" or "My Web Search".
You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.
Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.
Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.
O3 - Toolbar: &My Way Speedbar - {0494D0D9-F8E0-41ad-92A3-14154ECE70AC} - C:\Program Files\MyWay\myBar\1.bin\MYBAR.DLL (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Winsock32 driver] TESTING.EXE
O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [Winsock32 driver] TESTING.EXE
Please reboot into safe mode - How do I boot into "Safe" mode?.
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files (if found):
C:\WINDOWS\system32\TESTING.EXE
C:\Program Files\MyWay\myBar\1.bin\MYBAR.DLL
Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working.
Here is some information on this entry: C:\OPLIMIT\ocrawr32.exe
from www.answersthatwork.com
Don't know if it is causing your problems or adding to them. If you don't use this feature, then let me know and I'll walk you through it.
These two background programs implement the OCR Aware feature of OmniPage in the later versions of OmniPage (this is called OmniPage/OCR Aware in other versions of OmniPage). This feature inserts the Acquire Text option in the File menu of Office Suites (Microsoft Office, Lotus SmartSuite, Corel WordPerfect). By clicking on "Acquire Text" you can scan a page of text and have it OCR’ed by OmniPage straight into your wordprocessor, spreadsheet, or presentation, all in one operation. When it works it is a great feature and a much simpler operation than opening OmniPage, scanning, converting, and saving into a file.
Recommendation :
Unfortunately there are many documented conflicts between these background programs and other applications such as applications using your modem (!!), or other applications which need to use the scanner. Our recommendation, therefore, is that, unless you do a lot of conversion-to-text scanning (OCR) and you are not experiencing general PC problems or problems with other programs, then you should disable this feature and get used to manually opening OmniPage to scan text. You can disable the feature as follows :
(1) Open OmniPage.
(2) Choose the "Tools \ OCR Aware" menu option.
(3) Remove the check mark against the "Enable OCR Aware" option.

Thanks coachwife6 for all your help, the windws\system32\TESTING.EXE would not die without a fight. kept removing as you directed but kept coming back in the second scan. Finally removed it by deleting, but only after changing inherited values in that files properties, can't quite remember presicly how i did it but the clues were from another thread i 'd remembered reading the other day. this has been a b...h of an exercise and quite time consuming but thanks to yourself and GtoG forum the problem seems to be fixed.
