Java Problem

I am having a java problem this past week. Java does not load even though it is enabled in the plugin section in Firefox. It does not work in IE9 also. I have to un-install it and re-install it for it to work. The next day it does not work again. I downgraded to another version of Firefox same results. My system is Windows 8 32 bit. Please help.
