Download and save the AVG removal tool
http://download.avg....6_2011_1184.exe

If that doesn't work then try the free version of Revo Uninstaller:

The actual link is:

http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x86_2011_1184.exe

the forum software likes to shorten it but if you click on the shortened link it should work.

Make sure that if you have Spybot S&D that you :
Disable Spybot's TeaTimer to make sure it won't interfere. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:

* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode
* If it is not already set to do this, go to the Mode menu
select
Advanced Mode
* On the left hand side, click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident icon in the list
* Uncheck
Resident TeaTimer
and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer

If that doesn't work you can try regseeker:

http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm
The download is where it says:
DOWNLOAD RegSeeker 1.55 (>20 languages included !)
It's a zip file so you have to save it then right click on it and Extract All then run regseeker.exe.

Select Find in Registry then have it look for AVG. Click on Match whole Word. You can then select all (Make sure they really are talking about AVG ) and then right click and delete selected. It puts a copy of the stuff it removes in the backups folder which it creates below the folder it is in so if it doesn't work you can go back and replace it.

RegSeeker also has a registry cleaner but I don't really trust registry cleaners so I'd rather you didn't use it.

When I click on the link it starts to download: avg_remover_stf_x86_2011_1184.exe

Save the file and then run it (Win 7 or Vista should right click and Run As Admin)
