PC restart instead of shutting down

I have a Biostar G41D3+ MoBo, Windows 7 Home Premium, every time I hit the shutdown button, the pc won't shutdown it restarts instead. Any one can help me to resolve this issue. It happened in 3 different PCs, all with the same HW & SW configuration.

what happens if you use soft shutdown...click on start...to the right of the search box...click on shutdown

does it shutdown or restart...
if it shuts down the go here for a guide on how to Manage Power Settings

It restarts whenever I click on the button right of the search box.

did you follow the link I provided to Manage Power Settings...

if so and you don't see anything set incorrectly the lets run SFC
do this by typing sfc in the search box...
right click on sfc.exe in the results above...click on yes or continue to the UAC challenge

there's no yes when I right click only open, and it opens and closes a command window

a command window opens and closes
i enter cmd, and executed that command


SFC [/SCANNOW] [/VERIFYONLY] [/SCANFILE=<archivo>] [/VERIFYFILE=<file>]
[/OFFWINDOWS=<Windows...> /OFFBOOT=<....>]


sfc /SCANNOW
sfc /VERIFYFILE=c:\windows\system32\kernel32.dll
sfc /SCANFILE=d:\windows\system32\kernel32.dll /OFFBOOTDIR=d:\ /OFFWINDI
R=d:\windows
sfc /VERIFYONLY

what parameter do i have to use to solve the problem

type cmd in the search box...select it from above
type in
sfc /SCANNOW and press enter
note the single space before the /
