Win 7 ultimate doesnt search

oh it searches, but NEVER finds anything close to relevant. I havent changed anything since installing a few months ago, why does it do this? I use the start button search, for file si know i have like a movie, movie, or tiotle yields zero. yet if i type 'wombat' in a word doc, entering 'wom', will find that somehow...any ideas many thanks rick
