Game won't run off Steam, dota.exe error

Hello
About a week ago, with no changes to my system or Steam platform, I was unable to run Dota 2 off of Steam. I am still unable to load it. I receive an error message right after clicking "play" reading,"dota.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the convenience." Error Signature: "AppName: dota.exe AppVer:0.0.0.0 ModName: shaderapidx9.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00045fd0"

did you try restore yet...if not do so now...

Steam support had no content on my error. I contacted support about my issue but they haven;t responded yet, any other suggestions?

try uninstalling Steam then reinstall it...how to here
