The first part took a considerable time but completed.

If there were errors it should take some time to finish. Before we continue how is your system after this step? Any better?

It seems to be ok  I will be testing it shortly but initial tests let me send an email without crashing.

That is great news! Test it for one day and I'll prepare some cleanup for your system.

Thanks you have been a great help and I will buy you a coffee!

I have a question. The Eset security did not protect me. Is it worth paying for eset like I do (it doesn't stop everything it seems dispite its claims) or should I change to something else or add something to it?

I will see how it goes today as I will be catching up from previous lost days.

Thanks for your continued help.

Thank you for considering buying me cup of coffee. I really appreciate it!

There is no antivirus (or any software) that will protect you 100%. That for sure. You have ESET and Malwarebytes and you don't need anything else.

We prefer free antivirus software here. Here is my antivirus recomendation:

I also have Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes and they work without problems.

Hi SamSpadeSleuth,

Thank you for your generous donnation! I really appreciate it

Your logs and system are clean now. I'm glad we fix up your computer. We need to clean up your PC from programs we used.

Step 1

Please start OTL one more time and click CleanUp button. OTL will restart your system at the end. Remove all other application we used to clean your PC.

General recommendations

Here are some recommendations you should follow to minimize infection risk in the future:

1. Delete Temp files

Download TFC to your desktop
  • Open the file and close any other windows.
  • It will close all programs itself when run, make sure to let it run uninterrupted.
  • Click the Start button to begin the process. The program should not take long to finish its job
  • Once its finished it should reboot your machine, if not, do this yourself to ensure a complete clean

2. Make Backups of Important Files

Please read this article Home Computer Data Backup.

3. Regularly update your software

To eliminate design flaws and security vulnerabilities, all software needs to be updated to the latest version or the vendor’s patch installed.

You should download Update Checker from here. The program will automaticly check for newer version of software installed on your system.
