Yeah...I've never had much luck with purchasing the right RAM. I just wasted cash I what I thought was the right one before discovering after pulling my netbook apart..it wasn't.

Looking to upgrade the 1GB RAM in my Acer Aspire One D255 to a 2GB one. The one I have is pictured here: http://i.imgur.com/3aYdY.jpg The one I mistakenly bought is: http://i.imgur.com/0enZB.png

So yeah, little help. Is this the right one, for instance? http://goo.gl/amRZu (eBay auction link)

You are correct that the Aspire will NOT run DDR3 memory. While the memory from ebay will work, the laptop will also run PC2-6400 sodimm memory(this is DDR2 memory). It is a mute point tho, because even if the 2 gig's of memory helps, the basic computer is very slow. I sold my acer aspire D260 within a month so i could buy a regular laptop. Since you seem to have taken your memory out of your laptop, i won't go thru the drill to remove it. PITA,isn't it. Too bad there isn't 2 memory slots as maybe 3 gigs of memory might make the laptop liveable.

It's actually decent running Windows 8. Ran awful with pretty much everything else. Just figured 2GB of RAM couldn't hurt.

But if that eBay one will work, that's good.
