So I've done all the preliminary stuff and I think im ready for somebody smarter than I to view my log. I've got this process running that i know is bad msole.exe. But, nothing I run seems to get rid of it. Please take a look and let me know what my problems are. THanks so much in advance.

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Download CWShredder (there is a link in my signature), unzip it, and save it on the Desktop. Please do not run it yet, though.


Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Right-click: HERE and select Save As (in Internet Explorer it's labeled Save Target As) in order to download the Smitfraud.reg file. Save this file to your desktop.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch and delete all the files in that folder.

Locate the smitfraud.reg file on your desktop and double-click it. When asked if you want to merge with the registry, click the YES button. Wait for the "merged
successfully" prompt then follow the rest of the instructions below.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
msmsgs.exe<--Delete this file
Exit Explorer.

Run CWShredder to fix your CWS problem.

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure all are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Reboot as normal.

Sorry for not posting everything. I ran panda online and couldn't find where I could get my results to post, so I'm doing it again. Also running housecall as well. As for your comment about ewido not being run, I don't see where in you first reply you stated to run it. Maybe Ewido you are referring to housecall. Not sure. I do know this. I apologize for not getting everything you need before posting again. You guys do an amazing amount of work for free and you do a heck of a job sharing your knowledge.

I'm following back thru both of your posts to ensure that my new logs will be what you are looking for. I do have a couple questions. Since I have multiple logins for my pc....myself and my wife, is going thru these steps going to fix just my login? or will it pick up both? Do the HJT logs look differently for each login? Anyway, I'm getting everything tonite and will post it up for you. Thanks!

I have 5 logs to show you.....I tried attaching them, but it tells me that i'm not permited to upload a file with that extension. So...here goes. 3 HJT logs, 1 mwav log and 1 activescan log.

I think I've done everything you've asked......lotta stuff so go easy on me. I did scan using housecall but couldn't figure out how to get a log. Also ran ewido.

Just realized that I screwed up and saved the whole mwav log and not just the virus llog. I'm sure you don't want to see 300 pages of that stuff. I'll go get the log and post them next.
