  • Boot your computer on a Ubuntu live-CD or live-USB.
  • Choose "Try Ubuntu" to load from live-CD or live-USB
  • Connect internet
  • Open a new Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T), then type:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt-get update

  • Press Enter
  • Then type:

sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && boot-repair

  • Press Enter
  • If prompted to update the software, click Yes
  • Once boot-repair is installed it should launch
  • Click Recommended Repair
  • If/when prompted to install the [pastebinit] packages, you may select either Yes or No
  • When finished, you should be prompted to restart.
  • Close all open windows, restart and see if the grub menu loads properly.
