Ok here is what happened.

I installed my norton cd into my computer. It was loading and then it froze up. I turned off the computer but not the right way. I turned it back on. The safe mode feature was there so i picked it and went into safe mode. Once in safe mode i log off and restarted my computer.

Ever since then, my normal windows is no longer there. Everytime i log into my computer it's in safe mode. It does not say safe mode in all the corners.. But the safe mode layout is there.

No matter how many times i restart my computer (correctly this time) it's stuck in safe mode. It's driving me nuts and i want my normal features back.

What do i do???? Somebody please help me.

Thank you to whomever.

  • Please understand we are all volunteers and we are not here all the time.
  • Sometimes it may be a extended amount of time to get back to you. If it has been
more then 3 days please shoot me a PM and I will try to get back to you quickly
    then.
  • Please do the following and supply the requested information as needed. If you
don't understand my instructions please ask and I will try to explain them
    clearer for you.

make sure they will not cause any further issues.
  • If you are receiving assistance in any other forum site please let us know as there may be conflicting advice given.

Before we can help you need to provide the following so I can start you in the right direction.
Laptop or Desktop?
  • If a name brand system then what brand, make and model is the system?
  • If custom built then what brand, make and model is the motherboard
  • Total memory installed
  • Total hard drive capacity and free space
  • What steps have you taken so far to resolve the issue

Have you tried highlighting and clicking on the one that says Last Known Good Configuration That Worked?
This normally will get back into windows normally then. If not we may have to do a system restore back before this happened.

Same way you get to safe mode. It is lower down in the list under safe mode.

It will go to the safe mode screen automatically when you turn it off. If not then usually tapping F8 after the first post screen will bring up the Advance Boot Options Menu which is where you want to get to.

Did you save the screenshot as jpeg file because if you saved it as a bmp it will be to big to attach.
